Oja

The ọja (flute) is one of the most ubiquitous instruments in Igboland and is nearly as old as Igbo culture itself. The small wooden aerophone has three holes: one for the player to blow into and the other two to control pitch and sound. For it's immense socio-religious and recreational functions, the ọja is of extreme significance in the Igbo musical world.
